About MWG

25 years building the best landscapes in Durham

Since January 2001, MWG Landscape & Construction has designed and built high-end outdoor spaces across the Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area, for hundreds of satisfied customers, many of whom call MWG back a decade later for their next project. Marc Wilson leads every project personally, from the 3D design through to the crew on site, backed by a team that brings decades of combined experience. The business has grown almost entirely on word of mouth.

The approach is deliberately different: MWG takes on only two or three full builds a year. These aren't quick installs, they're full-scale outdoor living environments that take two to three months to build properly, and in an eight-month season, doing fewer projects exceptionally well is the whole point. Built Different. Built Better.

Authorized Unilock contractors since 2006 and certified Oaks installers featured in their catalogue, MWG has won Awards of Excellence and now documents the craft weekly on Outdoor Envy, its own YouTube series. The work runs from driveways and patios to full estate transformations, every build is backed by a 2-year warranty, and financing is available to make it happen.

Meet Marc

Marc still leads every design himself

Marc Wilson started MWG in 2001 and still leads every design himself, walking the property, modelling it in 3D, and running the crew that builds it.

That hands-on approach is why customers come back. When one client's interlock shifted years after the job, Marc had it fixed the next day at no charge, and people like that call him again a decade later.

Today Marc builds alongside his son Tyler, and films the work episode by episode on his own YouTube series, Outdoor Envy.

How it works

Six steps, and you know where you stand at each one

Designing and building an outdoor space should be exciting. Here is what happens between the first conversation and the day you get the space back.

  1. 01

    Initial consultation

We meet at the property and talk through what you want from the space, along with anything constraining it. We take measurements, work out the scale, discuss materials, and check the local by-laws, which vary across Durham Region and Kawartha Lakes.

  2. 02

    Quote in seven days

You get a scope and a rough quote within seven days of that meeting. From there we refine the details together, answer questions and revise the plan until it's right.

  3. 03

    See it in 3D

For a larger build, a photoreal 3D model lets you walk the design and change it before anything is dug. The design fee comes off the total when you build with MWG.

  4. 04

    Choose your materials

Come with us to the supplier and pick the stone, the pavers and the plant material yourself. Nobody has to imagine a colour from a photograph.

  5. 05

    Construction

One in-house crew builds every element, and you're kept current on where the job is as it goes.

  6. 06

    Walk-through and clean-up

We walk the finished space together before we call it done, and the site is left clean.

Respected by peers and his own team

I had the opportunity to work with Marc as part of the MWG team. Learned a lot, especially how to keep a positive attitude and push through the tough times for the payoff at the end. Keep up the work!

Proud to back Durham's teams

MWG proudly sponsors local Durham Region minor hockey, including the Oshawa Minor Generals and the Whitby Wildcats. The community that built this business deserves to be built up in return.

Giving back to the neighbourhoods we work in has been part of MWG from the start, on and off the ice.
